Getting to The Alex

The Alex Hotel is located at 41-47 Fenian Street, Dublin 2, in the heart of Dublin city centre. Just minutes from Merrion Square, Trinity College and Grafton Street, it offers the perfect base to explore Dublin’s top attractions, shopping and cultural landmarks.

Yes. Guests of the Alex can avail of a specially discounted rate in Alexander Court car park, which is situated on Fenian Street,  3-minute walk from the lobby. Guests can avail of a special 24-hour discounted parking rate of €18. If your stay exceeds this period, an additional charge of €4 per hour will apply. EV charging points are available (bring your own charging leads). Height restriction: 1.90m.

The Alex Hotel is approximately a 25-minute drive from Dublin Airport. Alternatively, you can take the Aircoach directly to Merrion Square, which is just a short walk from the hotel, making your arrival into the city quick and convenient.

Yes. Our 24-hour front desk is always available to help with check-in, local recommendations, directions, transport arrangements and more. Whether you need a taxi at 6am or a last-minute dinner reservation, we’re here around the clock to assist.

Guests can check in from 4:00pm at The Alex Hotel, with check-out scheduled for 11:00am on the day of departure. We also offer late check-out (subject to availability and a fee), ideal if you have a late flight or want to enjoy a bit more time in the city. Planning an early arrival? Let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Yes, The Alex  is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking in rooms incurs a €250 cleaning charge.

Breakfast is served in The Carriage Restaurant from 7:00am to 10:30am daily. Walk-in guests are welcome too.

  • The Carriage Restaurant opens daily from 7am to 9.15pm, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a full bar and cocktail menu.
  • The Secret Garden is a floral-inspired outdoor terrace perfect for cocktails or al fresco dining, rain or shine.
  • Steam Café is open Monday to Friday, 7:30am–2:30pm, serving locally roasted Cloud Picker barista coffee, fresh pastries and light bites.
  • Room Service is available daily, offering a selection of dishes, snacks and beverages delivered straight to your room.

Yes! Our Secret Garden offers outdoor seating under a retractable roof, surrounded by blooms and heated for all-weather comfort.
