The Lobby Workhub

Creatives and coffee lovers are drawn to our workhub in the lobby, usually with a laptop, sketch pad, or newspaper. Designed for comfort and functionality, it is an open plan space with WiFi, power sockets, and ergonomic work desks. Plus, it’s within waving distance of Steam Café and The Carriage Restaurant which is serviced by our waiting staff, so a fresh cup of whatever you’re having is never far away.

The Carriage Restaurant

Relax in The Carriage where a stylish setting and tasty, locally-sourced food combines to create a unique dining experience. The menu is full of healthy options and traditional favourites, all with our signature Alex twist!

The Carriage is the ideal location for a tasty lunch or dinner with friends, or the perfect spot for socialising with its stylish décor, full bar service and extensive cocktail menu.

The Carriage Restaurant is open from 7am – 9.30pm, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast is available to hotel residents & walk in guests each morning from 7am to 10.30am.

The Secret Garden

Our Secret Garden is a floral-inspired outdoor terrace located behind the Carriage. Guests can dine al fresco under a canopy of flowers, in the knowledge that there’s a fully retractable roof and heaters in case the weather changes! Enjoy an indulgent weekend cocktail or evening dining during the evening in this very Instagrammable setting.

Steam Café

Sit and sip or grab and go at Steam, our in-house café located on the ground floor just behind reception. Steam offers a selection of pastries, treats and lunch options as well as delicious barista coffee, making it a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike.

Steam Café is open from 7.30am – 2.30pm, Monday – Friday.

In line with our Green Key commitment to eco-responsibility, we provide fresh towels when placed on the floor and refresh bed linens every third day. For any extra items you may need, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our front desk.

We understand if you’d rather not be disturbed, particularly with how comfy our massive beds are! Simply pop the Do Not Disturb sign on your door and we’ll leave you to relax.

Breakfast is served in The Carriage Restaurant. Enjoy a continental buffet, full Irish breakfast, or one of our signature à la carte menu items.

Hotel guests can avail of a discounted parking rate at the Alexander Court car park on Fenian Street.

The 24 Hour rate for guests is €18. The Hourly rate is €4 per hour.

EV charging points are also available in the Alexander Court Car Park. Guests must have their own charging leads.

Height restrictions of 1.90m, vehicles over this height risk being damaged should they try to enter the car park and any damage is the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle.

Please note: the car park access code is available from Reception.

Off for a stroll? Leave your luggage with us! Simply drop your bags off at Reception and we’ll look after them until you return.

laundryLaundry Service

Packing light? Keep your clothes fresh with our laundry service – you’ll find a garment bag, laundry form, and itemised price list in your bedroom. Place your clothes and completed laundry form in the garment bag, seal the bag, then drop it to Reception. Laundry must be delivered to Reception before 8am for same-day service from Monday to Friday excluding Bank holidays. Please note: you may be required to provide a credit card to avail of this service when your reservation is prepaid or being settled via a third party.

We have a 24-hour state of the art gym at our sister hotel The Mont which is a 2-minute walk from The Alex. Core has a range of equipment to suit all fitness levels.
