The Alex boasts 103 spacious rooms and suites, ranging from 30 to 48 sq m, each featuring a chic en-suite and offering guests the ultimate comfort during their stay in Dublin. Each room is thoughtfully designed with every amenity needed for a memorable stay, including a comfy Posturepedic Opulence mattress, a spacious work desk and seating area, a rainforest walk-in shower ensuite, a 49-inch smart TV with Chromecast capability, and complimentary ultra-fast WiFi.
Guest staying in our Executive Rooms or Suites can enjoy added benefits during their stay, including access to our VIP Exec Lounge with complimentary snacks and beverages, in-room Nespresso coffee machines, and luxurious complimentary robes and slippers.
The Executive Lounge
Our Executive Lounge is a private room, perfect for small intimate gatherings or for when guests want to spend some time outside of their Executive Room or Suite during their stay.
Offering a large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a variety of all Irish snacks. The Executive Lounge is open throughout the day until 7pm.
Access to the lounge is available to guests staying in our Executive Rooms and Suites.
Dining
Guests have a variety of choices on where to eat and drink when staying or visiting the Alex.
The Carriage is the hotel’s restaurant bar, offering breakfast in the mornings followed by extensive a la carte and drinks menus throughout the day and into the evening. Boasting an Art Deco look and a relaxed feel, the Carriage is perfect for casual dining or drinks before retiring to bed for the night in one of our spacious rooms.
The Secret Garden is our outdoor terrace, perfect for al fresco dining or indulgent weekend lunch. Featuring a floral-inspired design, the space boasts a retractable roof and heaters, meaning the Secret Garden is the ideal option for glamourous dining no matter the weather.
Steam is the hotel’s in-house café, serving up fresh barista coffee and healthy snacks and offering guests the option to either sit & sip or grab & go.
The Hotel Gym: Core Fitness
The Alex offers guests 24/7 access to Core Fitness, our state-of-the-art hotel gym. Located just up the street in our sister hotel, The Mont, Core Fitness has a variety of cardio and bodybuilding equipment.
Some guests may wish to explore the city as they exercise during their stay. There are a number of run routes in the city that take in some of Dublin’s top attractions, including Merrion Square which is located steps away from the Alex. If you would prefer to run in the city as opposed to the treadmill, our reception team would be more than happy to advise you on scenic running routes across the city which offer the opportunity to explore Dublin and its interesting gardens and parks.
Meeting Spaces
No matter the occasion, big or small, The Alex offers a range of stylish and versatile meeting spaces, all equipped with the most up-to-date technology.
Ideal for any occasion from small team meetings to large-scale conferences, event spaces at the Alex range in size from 52 square metres to 395 square metres, and all boast ultra-fast, complimentary Wi-Fi for seamless connectivity.
The Alex also offers exclusive hire of its meeting spaces, including the Secret Garden, making our hotel the perfect spot for your next celebration, be it a wedding, birthday, anniversary, baby shower or other intimate gathering.
The Alex Work Hub
The Alex boasts a spacious open-plan work hub, an ideal location for remote working which is situated in the hotel lobby. The large work hub desks feature sockets for recharging devices, while the shared space is flooded with natural light from the floor to ceiling windows.
Steam Café is located at the other end of the hotel lobby, meaning fresh barista coffee is available for guests who make use of the hub for work during their stay.

The Alex offers guests access to complimentary ultra-fast WiFi: the fastest speed of any hotel WiFi in Dublin.
Guests can access the WiFi in every space in the hotel. This includes in the rooms, where 49-inch smart tvs with Chromecast connectivity are installed for guest use, the hotel’s meeting spaces and the hotel’s workhub, ensuring ease of business for those who need to work during their stay at the Alex.
